CIRDAP – NIRDPR Collaborative International Training Programme on Natural Resources Management for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods

Strategy for sustainable rural development is to be adopted to improve the productivity of the natural resources and develop the capabilities of the rural communities to make optimum use of these natural resources for their livelihood.

In this context, CIRDAP in collaboration with NIRDPR of India is organizing the international training program on Natural Resources Management for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods in NIRDPR, India from the 22nd to 31st January 2020.

The training program is designed to discuss in depth the various strategies and approaches adopted for NRM for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods, for the rural poor with a focus on rural development and poverty alleviation for the participants of the CIRDAP member countries.

Nominations have to be sent to respective country’s CIRDAP Link Ministry with copies to training@cirdap.org by the 10th December 2019.

Role of CIRDAP Link Ministry:

Nominations must be submitted to training@cirdap.org in the prescribed nomination form (Click to Download Doc File), with consideration of other organizations, by the 15th December 2019. You are requested to select and send nominations according to criteria.

Role of Participants:

After being nominated from the organization, Participants have to upload the following documents in CIRDAP Application Link.

Basic Certificate Course on GIS and its Applications

CIRDAP Centre on Geo-informatics Applications for Rural Development (CGARD) with technical support from National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), India, is offering the fourth batch of Basic Course on GIS and its Applications to be organized from 15 November to 14 December 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The course is designed for students and professionals who want to make the best use of the latest spatial technologies in their professional fields.

The course on geo-spatial technologies and applications will facilitate students and entry-level officials to thoroughly understand Geographical Information Management, Remote Sensing, Image Interpretation, Digital Image processing, Geographic Information System (GIS), various applications including practical’s on Image processing & GIS. In this respect, the Geographic Information System (GIS) applications for rural resource development and capacity building have been found to play a potential role in promoting natural resource productivity for sustainable development, good governance and service delivery to the poor.

Objectives

The objective of the course is to develop an understanding and competence in, Geo spatial technology.

  • Analyze Geo-information problems encountered in professional domain and develop, apply the appropriate methods for studying and/or solving the problems
  • Learn different technologies for collecting, acquiring and verifying spatial data
  • Different Technology to generate, integrates, analyze and visualize spatial data
  • Apply practical skills by working on international standard projects

  • Hands on GPS Data Acquisition, downloading interfacing and overlaying on Google maps.
  • Satellite Programmes and data availability for Asia and Pacific
  • Data Collection in field and import in software
  • Hands on Digital Image Processing
  • Carry out a mini project and presentation

Eligibility Criteria

This course is open to:

(i) Students currently studying at university in any subject

(ii) Recent graduates from any discipline

(iii) Young professionals working in different sectors.

The participant must have Good command in English and basic computer knowledge.

  • On completion of registration process and full payment, we will sent admission letter mentioning registration number and detailed programmer schedule.
  • Once payment is made, there is no scope for cancellation or refund.
  • The admission is fist come first serve basis till the deadline of application, therefore interested applicants are requested to apply at the earliest.

Other information

  • Please note that the programme will be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and no accommodation facilities will be provided by CIRDAP.
  • The final mark will be calculated based on Attendances, exam, and Project. Only participants who will pass the course with minimum of 45% marks will get certificate. No certificate will be provided if the participants fail to get the minimum marks.

Planning Workshop for CIRDAP National Coordinators

CIRDAP is organizing a Planning Workshop for the CIRDAP National Coordinators on 11-13 March 2019 in Cumilla, Bangladesh.

The Governing Council (GC -21) meeting in Manila, Philippines in 2017, approved CIRDAP’s Strategic Plan 2018-2022, in which the Secretariat was impressed upon the need to strengthen coordination on between CIRDAP, the CMCs, CLIs and development partners. To reinforce its effort to achieve the Strategic Plan and better coordination, each member countries has appointed a CIRDAP National Coordinator to act as focal point of coordination between the above institutions, especially on programme activities.

This planning workshop is intended to bring together National Coordinators of all CIRDAP Member Countries to orient and brainstorm on CIRDAP programme activities for better planning.

 The main purpose of the Workshop is for coordinators –

(i) to participate in the planning of the revised 2019 programmes and proposed biannual 2020-2021 programmes;

(ii) to communicate with the National Coordinators’ (NC) on the system and processes of CIRDAP; and

(iii) to provide the opportunity for NCs’ to share their good practices on selected rural development programme(s).

It is expected that this workshop will enhance the capacity of the national coordinator and enable them to contribute for sustainable rural development in their respective countries.

The Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) in collaboration with the National Institute for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR) is organising an International Training Programme on Social Audit in Rural Development Programmes to be held on 19-28 March 2019 in Hyderabad, India.

Nominations are expected from CIRDAP member countries. The participants will be mid and senior-level government officials dealing with the theme of the programme.

Official nominations should be come through CIRDAP contact ministry with the prescribed nomination form and sent to training@cirdap.org by 18 February 2019.

Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Fellowship Programme 2018-19

The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme was instituted in 1964 for developing Human Recourse for the Government of India. Later on, its activities have also been associated with several regional and multilateral organizations and cooperation groupings like ASEAN, BIMSTEC, AARDO, MGC, etc. In connection with this, from 2013 CIRDAP also being affiliated with Government of India in ITEC Programme. The Indian Government have sponsored twenty (20) slots of this fellowship under CIRDAP Secretariat.
