IMPETUS is a research and innovation project funded by the European Union – Horizon 2020, no. 883286. It is an innovative project to enhance the resilience of smart cities in the face of security threats in public spaces. IMPETUS will provide city authorities with new means to address security issues in public spaces, and so help to protect citizens.

During this second of the IMPETUS Solutions webinars we will present and discuss Firearm Detector tool and how it continuously monitors surveillance camera feeds and automatically creates an alert if a firearm is detected in a public space.
The presentations is done by Joachim “Joe” Levy, who is the Founder and CEO of AiLert (previously 1702ai), an elite team that provides a real-time weapon detection tool designed to detect firearms using surveillance cameras. Before launching AiLert, Joe spent 10 years at Apple Computers Inc. where he gained his expertise in image processing. Joe also spent time in Hollywood as one of the top motion picture editors whose work received an Oscar nomination. Joe is an alumnus of three prestigious schools: New York Film Academy, Brooklyn College and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
