Significant achievements: motivated team of economists towards quality research, enhanced efficiency and reduced carbon footprint (reduced printing to bear minimum) through digital functioning, maximised outcomes from R&D Fund of NABARD, special policy over view series by eminent economists, rejuvenated in-house research in NABARD and brought out 60 research reports and scores of journal and conference articles through inclusive approach in 2 years, revamped the NABARD’s Annual Report on 4 Cs: content, concision, contemporaneity and communication. Just led by example. Put DEAR on agricultural economics research map in India during 30 years journey with NABARD.
- Significant achievements are steering NABARD All India Rural Financial Inclusion Survey (NAFIS) of over 40000 rural households across 29 states; launching second round of NAFIS; constructing NAFINDEX based on NAFIS 1.0 data, Report on Farmers’ Welfare across Indian States; Charting out the Journey of Indian Agriculture over last 75 years; and launching NAFIS 2.0 covering all districts and 1,00,000 rural households, constructing Financial Inclusion Index (NABFINDEX), Farmers’ Welfare Index (FAWI), Market Access Index, among others.
- Over 4 years of teaching and training experience in Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Lucknow, Konkuk University, Seoul, South Korea and guest faculty support in India.
- Engaged in special assignments in and out of NABARD – that include working as member of Sub-group on disadvantaged farmers and women for XII Plan, helping Expert Group on Rural Credit (ECRC) (Chairman: Prof.V.S.Vyas), Member of Quinquennial Review Team, 2018-22 for ICAR-CSSRI, Karnal, Member, Member, Sectoral Policy Group-Agriculture, India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.
