Brief Biography
Dr. Brian Szuster is a Professor at the University of Hawaii who specializations include coastal resource management and environmental impact assessment. He teaches at the graduate and undergraduate levels and his research program focuses on coastal aquaculture and marine recreation management. He has worked extensively on natural resource management projects in both Asia and Canada, and was a consulting environmental planner for over 10 years prior to joining the University of Hawaii. In this role he acted as project manager on numerous environmental impact assessments and environmental planning projects.

I have worked extensively on coastal resource management projects in both Asia and North America, and acted as project manager on numerous environmental impact assessments and environmental planning projects. I have extensive experience with coastal tourism management and tropical aquaculture, and acted as project manager of the Thailand Aquaculture Management Project, a five year Canadian International Development Agency initiative that focused on building the capacity of academic and government institutions to apply geomatics technology in the management of coastal resources at Burapha University in Thailand.
