From 2016 to 2021, the PTD pilot around Lake Urmia facilitated farmers’ participation in experimenting with more affordable water-saving technologies that could be better suited to small plots with uncertain access to water. The experience showed how agriculture systems can become more sustainable while strengthening the livelihoods of all farmers.
