Brief Biography
Sunil Murlidhar Shastri is a consultant, educator and speaker in Ocean and Environmental Governance. He found his passion for Pacem in Maribus in 1982 under the tutelage of Elisabeth Mann Borgese and has since made it his mission. He is best known for his MasterClass and cogent analysis.
In the past, Sunil has attended the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, International Ocean Institute Malta, RWTH Aachen University Germany, Dalhousie University Canada, London School of Economics UK and Harvard Kennedy School USA, supported throughout by prestigious scholarships.
After graduating from IIT Kharagpur in 1977, Sunil has been a university academic, consultant and researcher in ocean and environmental policy, and in mining and ocean engineering. He has served on several professional and public bodies as director, governor or trustee and is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.
Sunil was born in India in 1955 and has lived in the UK since 1988
