TIEMS – CBI Webinar Series of International Models in Emergency Management**

Next in our webinar series is Bangladesh. With a population of 166 million, Bangladesh suffers from floods, cyclones, storm surge, river bank erosion, earthquake, drought, salinity intrusion, fire and tsunami. Bangladesh is a member of such international organizations as the UN, WTO, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, and others.

Our speaker is Anisur Rahman. Anisur currently works as a National Consultant (SFDRR) at UNDP Bangladesh. He is an experienced Professional in the field of Urban Planning and Disaster Risk Management with a demonstrated history of working in the South and South East Asian Countries. Skilled in Urban Planning, Capacity Building on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), Sustainable Development, Urban Environmental Management, Proposal Writing, and Technical Management. Anisur is a strong operations professional with a Master of Science (MSc) focused in Urban Environmental Management from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. During the webinar he will tell us how cyclone preparedness is done for the coastal communities of Bangladesh.

Background

Throughout 2022, there will be a recurring monthly series of webinars that will highlight, compare, and contrast various European/International/National domestic emergency management models. Guests will present their different models, approaches, and systems used in emergency management. This webinar series is an excellent opportunity to hear from experts across the globe. This will be a monthly series focused on the various national platforms in emergency management and disaster response while building a community of interest to share perspectives and experiences.
