Empowering Women in STEM
Tuesday, 26 March 2024, 10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. GMT+8 | Virtual
Gender disparity persists in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. A 2023 report from the World Economic Forum says women are consistently underrepresented in STEM jobs. They make up only 29.9% of all STEM workers, when they account for almost half or 49.3% of total employment across non-STEM occupations. Women account for 29.4% of entry-level workers, but their share of high-level jobs falls to 17.8% for vice-president and 12.4% for C-suite levels.
This webinar will examine the barriers to women’s increased participation in STEM and discuss solutions and the roles of government and business in ensuring equitable and inclusive STEM career pathways for women in Asia and the Pacific.
