Asia Pacific Journal of Rural Development – June 2019 issue Title: Asia Pacific Journal of Rural Development – June 2019 issue Asia-Pacific Journal of Rural Development (APJORD), a bi-annual academic journal, is a flagship publication of CIRDAP. It is devoted to the issues and discussions on rural development, primarily in the Asia-Pacific region. The journal provides a platform for academicians, policymakers, NGOs, research scholars, and other stakeholders interested in Integrated Rural Development (IRD) to exchange and share ideas, opinions, field observations, and empirical findings on various facets of rural development.APJORD focuses on Integrated Rural Development, keeping in view the six programme priorities of CIRDAP. These are: (a) sustainable development and efficient use of natural resources (e.g. land administration andmanagement, waste management and natural resource management); (b) livelihoods (e.g. povertyreduction, economic productivity through technological innovation, upgrading and diversification andrelated policies, skill development, entrepreneurship, access to financial services and sustainable tourism);(c) access to basic services (e.g. food and nutrition security, safe and affordable drinking water andsanitation, health and education, affordable reliable and modern renewable energy, access to information, decent housing, and rural transportation access); (d) climate change (e.g. strengthen resilience andadaptive capacity to climate change, and mitigation of adverse impact); (e) governance (e.g.strengthening local governance and CBO/CSOs, and gender inclusive governance) and (f) management ofrural areas in transition. Since the 1960s, Asia has created the miracle of economic development after the Second World War and embarked on the path of modernization, especially in Asian developing countries. Singapore and Republic of Korea have become developed countries, and Maldives, China, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkmenistan have achieved the middle-income status. China in its rapid devel-opment has especially not only changed the development landscape of Asia, but also, to-gether with other Asian countries such as In-dia, turned into the most important force that alters the world’s economic pattern. Admission going on for CIRDAP member countries to the One year Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development at NIRD&PR Hyderabad, INDIA

Announcement of Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management – National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR) for academic year 2025-26 for CIRDAP Member Countries. We are glad to inform that the admissions for the Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM) 2025-26: Batch-23 has started. Attached is the Application form to seek nominations of the students from CIRDAP Member countries. Last date for receipt of the applications from In-Service students is 30th April 2025. Candidates will be interviewed by teleconferencing / videoconferencing jointly by CIRDAP and NIRD&PR. Taking the past experience on the health status of the candidates, it is mandatory for the candidates to submit their health status by way of producing the test reports of HIV 1 and Il and HBS-AG from a recognized Medical institution. These reports are mandatory and are required to be sent along with Application. Further, in so for as the Programme Management is concerned, the PGDRDM is a teaching programme encompassing everyday class room sessions, assignments, both short and long field visits. The programme rigour is high as it comprises 24 courses with 66 credits in three Trimesters. Students must pass all the courses of the Trimester. The entire course will be taught in English only, hence the proficiency of students in writing and spoken English is compulsory. During the field visits the students are expected to stay in villages where the facilities will be bare minimum. You are aware that each international student will be housed at an independent moderately furnished Quarters. They are supposed to manage their kitchen and daily needs. NIRD&PR will pay them the Daily Subsistence Allowance towards purchase of Groceries, etc., as per NIRD&PR norms.
